Derrald Taylor has fashioned a Muskox horn into a sophisticated Crane.
SOLO FLIGHT stands next to her two eggs poised to push off her rock.
Time for a break away from the "children", so she can rehydrate and have lunch.
Taylor always takes his carving "up a notch".
With Solo Flight, the crane's body is predominantly black.
Usually, muskox horn contains only fine streaks of black.
Derrald has been able to harvest a horn with a large area of black and has then polished the bird's body to a beautiful shine.
Muskox horn Cranes are commonly poised in an upright standing position.
But, again, Derrald has Solo preparing to fly, wings outstretched and head down.
Solo Flight is a one of a kind Muskox Horn carving!
Are you ready to let her escape into the wild?
