MASTERPIECE CARVING! MUSEUM QUALITY SCULPTURE!
WAG THE TAIL is without a doubt, the FINAL large Pits Eagle and Fish available.
For months I have been tirelessly working to track down Pits's Signature Bird carvings.
This exceptional beauty is straight from the desk of a colleague who had it on his desk for years.
I arm wrestled him for it and won!
In the past months, I have had a list of clients who are frantic for me to find them one more iconic Pits' eagle.
In my quest to fulfill my clients wishes, it follows that the "inventory" of his work is gone and because his pieces cannot be replaced, the value of the carvings have escalated.
This is a predictable event whenever a cherished artist can no longer carve.
For those who collected Pits birds over the decades, the monetary value of those pieces will have already increased in value.
Something to consider, if your collection is part of an inheritance.
WAG THE TAIL is truly one of Pits' most awe inspiring Eagles!
I loved Pits' Eagles and he always offered me first choice with his Eagles.
I have seen many magnificent Pits' Eagles over the decades.
But Wag is a SUBSTANTIAL size of ELEVEN inches.
The details of the wings, the beak, the eyes, the feathers, the fish, and the TALONS explode with electricity because of the large size of the carving!
My favourite Eagles were the dark dark green (almost black) birds.
Pits was a Master at selecting the perfect colour for his pieces.
The colours were so integral to the majesty of all his Birds..
It is Ironic that Wag is that exact sumptuous almost black which only Pits seemed to be able to find!
I believe that Pits carved the best Owls and Eagles in the world.
To me, Wag is the most exquisite Pits' eagle of so many Pits' Eagles.
Pitseolak Qimirpik was one of Canada’s most recognized Inuit carvers.
His family, people who knew Pits, and those who loved his work, have lost a large personality and a once in a life time talent.
We will continue to miss Pits for years to come.
It will be next to impossible to replace the man and his talent.
