MERRIMENT AND MIRTH!
One doesn't expect to see walruses dancing!
Aren't they lumbering and cumbersome?
Dance? Never!
But anything is possible in art and I love artists who choose to combine fantasy and realism!
MANN shows us two walruses, hands joined, arms thrown up in glee who are not only Dancing on their tales but they are kicking their "legs" out to the side in a Charleston!
Peter K is a master in carving detailed smaller pieces.
His choice of stone is always dead on.
One walrus a soothing yellow green, the other in a deep caramel colour.
These two dancers are such characters; full of fun and merriment and yet somehow sophisticated.
Intriguing!
The delight that oozes from this piece is brilliant.
